Kirk Hinrich scored 20 points, had eight boards, and dished out 12 assists for Chicago, which has won three straight following a slide in which they had dropped five of six. The Bulls were playing without forward Andres Nocioni, who missed his eighth game in the last nine with a foot injury. Nocioni aggravated the injury Thursday night against Cleveland after missing seven straight games.

Ben Gordon finished with 18 points for Chicago.

Gilbert Arenas had a game-high 36 points for Washington, which had its three- game winning streak halted. Caron Butler scored 14 points and had seven rebounds, while DeShawn Stevenson finished with 13 points for the Wizards, who shot 42 percent in the contest.

A back-and-forth battle culminated with Washington clinging to a slim 26-24 lead after the first quarter.

Then, with the game knotted at 34-34 in the second, a pair of Hinrich free throws ignited an 8-0 Chicago run and the Bulls grabbed a 42-34 lead with 4:08 remaining before the break.

The Wizards battled back and once again made it a four-point game, but PJ Brown capped the first half scoring with a free throw for Chicago, and the Bulls led 49-44 at intermission.

Brown and Deng combined for a 6-0 burst to start the third, but Washington clawed its way back. Down 68-56 at 4:27, Stevenson ignited an 11-0 run, capped by four Arenas' free throws after Chris Duhon was ejected on a pair of technical fouls after arguing with the referee during a loose-ball scramble.

The surge brought the Wizards within three, 68-65, with 2:13 remaining in the stanza and they trailed by three, 73-70, heading into the fourth.

The Bulls put the game away, however, outscoring Washington 32-20 in the final 12 minutes.

Hinrich's layup started an 8-2 Chicago run, capped by Adrian Griffin's layup to make it 81-72 with 9:49 remaining. The Wizards then pulled within four, but a 9-0 run by the Bulls helped their lead balloon to 90-77 with 6:47 to play.

Washington made just three shots from the floor down the stretch, and limped to the finish.

Game Notes

The Bulls are now 22-7 on their home court this season...The Wizards have lost their last six regular-season games at the United Center...Washington is 22-4 when Arenas scores 30 or more points.
